(4.1 / 5)
The rear facing maximum weight of 40 lbs, is one of the largest currently offered on the US market and means that you could potentially keep your child seated in the safer rear facing position for much longer than with many other comparable models should you so wish.
A 5-point front adjusted harness is fitted that can be used all the way up to when your child reaches a maximum weight of 65 pounds. This model also uses EPS, energy absorbing foam to effectively absorb the energy from a crash and reduce the amount of crash forces reaching your child.
The MyRide 65 and 65 LX have both been tested and found to meet or exceed US safety standards. It’s also been tested to make sure that the harness complies with occupant retention during a side-impact crash.
For comfort, it comes supplied with a removable infant insert to ensure that your baby is cradled snugly and that the harness straps are positioned correctly for maximum protection. A toddler headrest is also supplied to offer even more head, neck and spinal protection as your child grows.
Two cup holders are supplied to help your child be more settled during the ride.
The LATCH system can be used for the installation which is made even easier due to a level indicator to help you get a trouble-free installation. The manufacturers website also has a selection of online videos to assist you with getting a good installation and fit in your vehicle.
The My Ride comes in 2 different ranges, the standard seat is available in fabric designs including, Sonata, Coda and Asbery. An enhanced version is also available. This is fitted with safety surround protection and supplied in other designs such as Nico and Capri.
Graco give a 1 year limited warranty on this particular model.
The seat cushion can be machine washed and the rest of the seat sponge cleaned. Always follow the manufacturers instructions closely for cleaning any type of child safety seats as using the wrong methods for cleaning can seriously weaken the materials used in the construction.

What Parents Liked about it..
- Easy install
- Lots of leg room when used rear facing
- High seating position
- Cup holders
- Good for larger babies and toddlers – seat shell is very deep
Parents Didn’t Like..
- Not as much padding as some other models – but my child didn’t seem to mind..
- Rethreading straps could be a little difficult some parents said
- A very small number of parents had problems getting a tight installation but this is a common scenario when looking at such a large number of parent reviews
The MyRide was well-liked by many parents who gave it a very positive review. It was mainly praised for giving lots of leg room due to its greater internal depth than most other seats. The seat can also be used rear facing up to 40 pounds which means that you can have your child in the extra safe rear-facing position for much longer than most other infant or convertible car seats.
The high seating position was also a benefit as it enables your child to be able to get a better view out of the car windows and therefore keep them more occupied during journeys.
A few minor gripes were that one or two parents initially had difficulty getting a tight install but managed to achieve a good fit after some huffing and puffing and experimentation. If you ever experience any problems getting a good fit then take it along to a certified installer who can fit it for you. All in all, the Graco MyRide 65 is a good seat which is recommended by us as a good choice especially if you want to keep your child seated rear facing for longer.
